First Trailer for BEN-HUR Looks Amazing – GeekMundo

Here is the first trailer for MGM and Paramount’s new remake of a classic film Ben-Hur. This remake of a classic, timeless movie is not needed in anyway and I am sure it will not run as long as the Charlton Heston version of Ben-Hur. This new version looks exactly what you would and should expect from a Hollywood remake. It does look like a fun movie that is probably not going to satisfy long time fans of the 1959 version. It looks like this version will skip the heavy story and showcase the high lights from the original. I am sure it will be a fun movie and do well from all the younger people seeing it and the old folks seeing it to see how it stacks up to the original. Ben-Hur hits theaters in August 2016. It is directed by Timur Bekmambetov and stars Jack Huston, Morgan Freeman, Rodrigo Santoro, Tory Kebbell and Nazanin Boniadi.

Plot Synopsis: The epic story of Judah Ben-Hur (Jack Huston), a prince falsely accused of treason by his adopted brother Messala (Toby Kebbell), an officer in the Roman army. Stripped of his title, separated from his family and the woman he loves (Nazanin Boniadi), Judah is forced into slavery. After years at sea, Judah returns to his homeland to seek revenge, but an encounter with Jesus (Rodrigo Santoro) leads him to the Crucifixion, where he discovers forgiveness and finds redemption. Based on Lew Wallace’s timeless novel, Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ.
