Jamie Foxx Developing Buddy Cop Drama for TNT with Robert Port

After shooting ‘em up in Quentin Tarantino’s eagerly anticipated ‘Django Unchained’, Jamie Foxx will step behind the scenes as a producer in a new TNT buddy cop drama about two high school football players turned cops.

Foxx along with former ‘Numbers’ producer Robert Port will be teaming up to produce a new buddy cop drama for TNT called ‘Hit’ which centers on two cops who played together on their high school football team. The best friends are conscripted into the Miami Police Department and hilarity will supposedly ensue. The friends are too be assigned to the HIT (High Impact Team) unit of the Miami P.D. as a dynamic duo of sorts.

According to Deadline, this is not the first time Rob Port and Jamie Foxx have worked together. Port was the co-creator for Foxx’s ‘The Jamie Foxx Show’ on the now defunct WB network. I wonder if Garcelle Beauvais, Jamie’s paramour on ‘The Jamie Foxx Show’ and ‘Franklin and Bash’ castmember (another TNT show) will make a cameo. That would be sweet! I was a big fan of Foxx’s show on the WB, so maybe ‘Hit’ will be another winner.
